As you know, the quickest way to lose weight is by consuming less and exercising more. The problem steady state jogging is much of the weight that is lost is muscle (catabolic activity). The breaking down of muscle must be offset by building it back up, which is only possible with the proper foods and exercises that concentrate on building muscles. Only with muscle building in mind can a fat loss program be effective and sustainable. Weight loss in this way assures that muscle tone is increased at the same time.

Yes, my lungs felt like they almost exploded after my 5th HIIT run last Saturday. Previously, I could never understand how anyone can run or exercise till they throw up. Since last weekend, I knew how that could be very possible indeed. But I’ll get to that in just awhile.

So today I officially started my IPPT training. Well, I have always been training on a regular basis (3 times a week), but not specifically for IPPT. For the uninitiated, IPPT basically means Individual Physical Proficiency Test. This is a mandatory fitness test that all National Servicemen in Singapore have to go through at least once a year until they have either completed their military reservist cycle or passed the age of 45 (I think).
